Over the last 12 years, Catia has gained a wealth of experience and knowledge in various areas of law, but primarily in family law and probate. She is an experienced matrimonial lawyer who undertakes work in complex and/or high net worth financial matters in the context of both divorce proceedings and non-matrimonial proceedings such as financial applications for unmarried parents. She also has experience in private children’s proceedings, comprising of residence and contact matters, parental responsibility disputes and injunctions (non-removal and non-molestation) as well as child maintenance matters. Her probate work includes drafting Wills, arranging registration of Wills of Immovable Estate, obtaining Grants of Probate for local and foreign estates and administering Movable Estates.
Catia holds memberships in the Jersey Family Law Society and the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists.
Catia was awarded The Law Society’s prize for the highest mark in the ‘Civil and Criminal Procedure’ paper and the ‘Trust Law’ paper.
Catia speaks both English and Portuguese and outside of work Catia likes to stay active by going to the gym and spend time with her family and friends.
